  3. Install the battery: Slide the battery pack into the compartment on the rear until it clicks.
  4. Place on charging dock: Ensure the dock is on a level surface and plug the power adapter into an outlet. Place the vacuum onto the dock contacts to begin initial charge.

WARNING! Ensure the vacuum is turned OFF and the battery is not inserted during initial assembly to prevent accidental startup.

First-Time Use

Fully charge the battery before first use. The indicator light will turn solid when charging is complete.

  1. Power On: Press the power button on the handle. The LED headlights will illuminate.
  2. Select Mode: Use the mode button to cycle through Eco (longest runtime), Normal, and Boost (maximum suction) settings.
  3. Begin Cleaning: Push the vacuum forward on your floor surface. The POWERDETECT sensor will activate automatically on carpets.

Controls and Settings

Primary controls are located on the handle. Charging Dock: Houses the power adapter and charging contacts.

Handle Controls: Power Button, Mode Selector Button (Eco/Normal/Boost), Battery Charge Indicator LEDs, Wand Release Button.

Operation: Power on/off with single press. Cycle cleaning modes by pressing the mode button. The battery indicator shows remaining charge (Green: High, Amber: Medium, Red: Low). The NEVERTOUCH ejector is activated by pressing the foot pedal near the dust cup. The brushroll can be turned off for hard floor cleaning via a switch on the vacuum head (if equipped).

Cleaning Modes & Attachments

Use the appropriate mode and attachment for the cleaning task.

  1. For large areas (carpets): Use Normal or Boost mode. The vacuum will automatically adjust suction.
  2. For hard floors: Eco or Normal mode. Consider turning off the brushroll if available.
  3. For above-floor cleaning: Detach the wand and attach the desired tool.
    • Crevice Tool: For tight spaces, corners, and along baseboards.
    • Dusting Brush: For delicate surfaces, blinds, shelves, and lampshades.
    • Upholstery Tool: For sofas, chairs, stairs, and car interiors.

Tip: For best results on carpets, make slow, overlapping forward and backward passes.

Maintenance & Emptying

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Empty the Dust Cup: Hold the vacuum over a trash bin. Press the NEVERTOUCH foot pedal to open the bottom gate and release dirt. Close the gate securely.
  2. Clean the Filters:
    • Pre-motor foam filter: Rinse with cold water every month. Air dry for 24+ hours completely before reinstalling.
    • Post-motor felt filter: Tap gently to remove dust every month. Do not wash.
  3. Check the Brushroll: Periodically remove any debris (e.g., strings, cords) wrapped around the ends of the brushroll. The self-cleaning feature reduces but may not eliminate all wraps.
  4. Clear Blockages: If suction power drops, check the wand, hose, and air pathways for clogs.

WARNING! Always turn off and remove the battery before performing any maintenance. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembly and use.

Battery & Charging

The removable battery charges on the dock or can be charged separately.

  1. For charging: Place the vacuum on the dock or insert the battery into the dock's side port. The indicator will pulse during charging and become solid when full.
  2. Maximizing Battery Life: Store and charge in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully depleting the battery regularly; recharge when the indicator shows one red LED.
  3. Battery Removal: Press the release button on the battery and slide it out of the compartment.

CAUTION! Use only the Shark-approved charger and battery. Do not expose battery to fire, extreme heat, or puncture.

Care & Storage

Store the vacuum in a dry place, preferably on its charging dock to keep the battery charged.

Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse any part of the vacuum in water or use abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Do not store with a fully depleted battery for extended periods. Store indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
